19th Desperados Highjump 2018

Old member of The Prodigy and elite divers will be at this year´s Desperados High Jump

This year´s open championship of the Czech Republic in Cliffdiving will be on the 3. and 4. of August 2018. Elite divers from Europe and all over the world will come to a flooded quarry in Hříměždice near Příbram. The program will offer extreme dives from up to 30 meters, concerts, dj´s and accompanying program full of adrenaline. Tickets for the whole weekend are available for sale on Ticketstream.

The oldest and biggest Czech cliffdiving championship will happen for the nineteenth time in the flooded granite quarry in Hříměždice. Every year elite divers from Europe and all over the world get to show their best at Desperados HighJump. The competition is divided into different jumping heights, which are 12, 16 and since 2017 also 20 meters above the water. Exhibition jumps from heights up to 33 meters are also part of the program. Besides normal jumps, there is a five meter swing prepared. The program also includes exhibition of splashdiving from heights bigger than 10 meters.

“Every year we want to prepare something new and special. Due to that we always do our best to change the accompanying program. This year will be no different. We want people to have fun throughout the whole weekend. Besides the elite divers we have an amazing foreign band and we are preparing a big adrenaline zone in the back of the area.” said one of the organizers – Tomáš Jechort

Desperados Highjump is not just about passive watching of the diving event. There are many activities which can be tried out by visitors under the guidance of professionals.

Main stars of the musical program will be English-German djs and producers from SMASH HIFI due to their huge success last year. They are preparing a special program for Highjump, which will be revealed soon. In addition, fans can look forward to leading domestic djs and music bands. Those will present themselves on many musical scenes.

“Highjump was always a sort of a different event. I dare to say that there is no such event in Europe. It is a connection between incredible jumping performances and the option of spending a nice weekend with friends near water in swimming suits. That is one of the main ideas that we are trying to fulfill for almost twenty years.” says one of the founders of Highjump Petr Vančura.

A tent town and enough of social facilities are traditionally prepared for visitors. Every year the organizers try to do their best at choosing a good quality and variety of food. There are different kinds of food from different parts of the world as well as traditional food. Bars with cold drinks and beer with the spark of tequila from Desperados is a must at events such as Highjump.
